The road into Windy...

Driving in to Windy Harbour is really special.

We've all been going there since  the folks bought their hut back in 1960, and there is a sense of home coming whenever I go back...

I've retraced the drive-in on camera, so you can all get the same feeling I always do...

Looking back over the coastal plain away from Windy...

And the road out of Windy towards Northcliffe...

Entrance to Windy...

Beautifully maintained announcement!...

And now onto the "main" road...

First house into Windy is...

Adsy's place!

Most of the huts are named...

However, we are still discussing what ours could be- well over 50 years later...

For the record, I favour "The Trophy Room" a la the movie The Castle...

A sign pointing to a sign....

A few of the huts and scenery on the way in...

Coming over the rise to see "The Greasy Spoon" on the right...

And "Carney's Corner"..

But wait... what's that on the grass?

There....

No- there....

Yes.... it is!!!

A speed camera!!!

Actually no....

With typical WIndy Harbour (not to mention Aussie) ingenuity...

It's really a wine bottle, a piece of black rubbish bag, a tripod, electrician's tape, a tool kit box, a shaver cord, and a chain...

But it has the same effect!

Turning down our road....

Then.....

Bloody hell!

A Smurf sat on our hut!!!!!

Uncle John didn't tell us and left it for a surprise....

Which it surely was!

Rose would have loved it.... it was the colour she picked..

Just as much as she would have loved the verandah...

Now for furniture!

  1. The verandah looks great, I can't wait. I'm made me cry though... all those years the verandah could have been there for everyone to enjoy, especially Rose who always wanted it and would have really enjoyed it.

I wasn't sure about the colour, but it looks great. V happy, v greek!

  2. My first comment on the entire blog! And it took a verandah to do it... Yes- me too- happy about the colour and the verandah looks great. I wanted everyone to experience the discovery rather than me just tell you all about it... Hope it worked

  3. You could have cleaned all the crap of the verandah and moved the bed away before you took the shot of the House. Keh! The spirit of Rose would not be impressed!
